2017 Overleaves ~ “Shift Happens”

(approximate reading time 10-15mins)

Hello, all, and Happy 2017!

I think The Tower (XVI) from the tarot’s major arcana is an appropriate symbol that gives more insight into the patterns of the year ahead.  Or maybe the shock and surprise shown in the image of the tower came last year!

Either way, The Tower symbolizes shocking realization and awakening that is sometimes the necessary precursor that initiates the process of deep cleansing and healing.

We are in it, folks!

Hold tight to your center of love and conscience in the days ahead and stand up for a cause that is for the greater good.  Healing and evolution is the truth inside all this apparent madness.

Here is what I got from Michael on the patterns for the year ahead.

***

2017 Overleaves

Role: WARRIOR
Center: HIGHER MOVING (default to MOVING)
Goal: DOMINANCE
Mode: PASSION
Attitude: PRAGMATIST sliding to REALIST
Chief Feature: ARROGANCE

Michael Entity:  We see Warrior as the role for the year due to many fragments, not just in the United States, but worldwide, who are clear that it is time to stand for something, to be loyal and devoted to some cause, to put themselves into submission to this cause and to take coordinated and strategic action to bring an air of victory to their cause, whatever that may mean to the various groups.
As you know some will be pursuing causes that are not for the greater good and some will be pursuing causes that are.  Because the Warrior energy is so single-minded and “bull-headed,” if you will, we think we will continue to see quite a bit of polarization throughout the year, as completely opposing values continue to collide, as each side forcefully and passionately stands behind its cause.

This is normal and the way when a collective is in the middle of a soul age transition, and in particular in the shift from young to mature.

The values here that are clashing are those of the young within the perception of “There is you and there is me, and I am going to win (or influence or impact you) as I take my own position as far as I can” and those of the mature which are “There is me and there is you, and I feel your pain” or “We all hurt, therefore, we all can choose to hold one another up and help one another, creating win-wins instead of win-loses.  This is a perception that everyone has rights, that everyone is equal and that everyone should be considered moving forward.

This clash in values can be seen throughout all the major structures and institutions of the planet across the board: political, economic, social, educational, etc.

The centering for the year harmonizes quite well with that of the Warrior focus, at least in its default of Moving Center, but when the higher center is engaged, the Higher Moving, the Warrior energy can feel quite lost, as the Higher Moving can first be experienced as quite chaotic before it is experienced as beautiful pattern and recognition of those patterns.

So, as the Higher Moving energy manifests in peaks throughout the year, we see a high probability of pauses, standstills and re-calibration within the various groups and causes that are fighting to have their voices heard on this planet at this time. The recognition of higher patterns and broader perspectives on the way your collective is evolving will ultimately help to bring all of these groups, these conflicting and polarized groups, into a new kind of alignment that is arrayed around common goals and causes that supersede what came before.

This is much like realizing that though you would like to buy that new “toy” that you have been wanting for quite some time, it might be better or serve the whole you better to go to the doctor first and focus on healing the massive tumor that you have identified in your lung, for example. The want and the desire for the toy doesn’t go away necessarily, but you choose to focus all of your time, energy and resources toward the more essential need of the moment. Once the healing has come or the road to recovery has come-once it has been addressed, then you may want to go back to fulfilling the other desire.

So in this shift of alignment, it is not that certain desires or wishes are excluded and dismissed. Not at all. They are simply set aside for the time being to work on the most essential issues, challenges, crises, etc.

We think that by the end of the year, it will be quite obvious to most who are actively participating in the changes on your planet in this transition more fully into the mature soul paradigm, what the patterns and over-arcing realities of necessity are actually saying. It will become clearer and clearer without a doubt the direction your species is headed on this planet, if you continue to fight each other and allow corporations and special interests to do nothing to help heal and nurture the environment in which you live.

As chaos is the negative pole of the Higher Moving energy, it is also likely that the year will be punctuated by brief to long phases of anxiety as a very chaotic reality appears to swirl and eddy in the collective. These chaotic eruptions would help to bring what needs to be healed more to the surface so that the aftermaths and the work on recovery begin to fall into the larger patterns of where the collective is wanting to go.

Dominance would be the goal because there is a very high focus on the necessity for each individual to be a leader by example in the ways that they feel most drawn to be.  Whether it be in a very small personal sphere where our students are working on moving from the negative pole of dictatorship to the positive pole of leadership or whether it be in much larger community contexts, the process would be the same of that movement from the negative poles to the positive poles, with the focus on choosing to be at cause, choosing to participate, choosing to choose amidst all of the shifting chaos and patterns being revealed in the coming year.

In terms of relating, we see Passion being the key here, in the sense of “what inspires you and whom”? It also has the mark of pursuing the goal of dominance with full energy and inspiration.

When in the negative poles, identification would be the experience, which means losing the sense of self to the sense of passion, to the cause, to the fight, so to speak, and losing all perspective of one’s self within these arenas-losing all perspective that one is a part of the cause because one chooses to be, but they are not one and the same.

Next we come to Pragmatist sliding to Realist. This is a focus on-in terms of interpretation and philosophy-on “what works”. This will be the fundamental platform from which the collective is looking at events this year-what works? In the negative, this will be dogma and what works, whether it works or not in actuality, will be held on to stubbornly and fought for as dogma. Whereas in the positive pole, efficiency will leave room for new learning and testing and experimentation to see what actually works better than what has come before. It is a perspective that is open and flexible and continues to gather input, continuing to piece together what works, rather than closing down out of fear and laziness toward synthesizing new information.

We see that the collective will often use the attitude of Realist to “partner” with the Pragmatist in order to move forward throughout the year, focusing on being objective in their assessments and interpretation, which will help to pull the Pragmatist into the positive pole of efficiency.

And finally we come to the chief feature of Arrogance, which in the format that you are used to [as channeled by Troy Tolley of TruthLoveEnergy], would be most dominant in the experience of the collective in the last 3 months of 2017.

Arrogance is the fear of vulnerability, the fear of being seen too closely and judged for what is seen. Arrogance is a means of protection against this fear of vulnerability and being exposed and judged. The defense is to “puff the self up,” to present a façade and an armor that seems to show no vulnerability or weakness but only superior qualities.

We see this arrogance not only in the causes that represent the side of “right”-and when we say “right” we simply mean moving in a direction that includes the whole and is better for the whole rather than just for individuals or small groupings-and in the causes that represent the side of “wrong.” It is obvious why those that represent the causes of exclusion and those resisting the flow of evolution-it is easy to see their arrogance. It is not always easy to see the arrogance in the causes that are striving to be inclusive and to implement better ways of having and being and doing for the whole.

Arrogance tends to dismiss, reject, defend against criticism, whether it is accurate and useful or not. And of course, in response to the fear of vulnerability, is quick to judge and criticize the other.

If one watches closely the interactions at the global level this year, one will see arrogance quite clearly but probably more extreme examples by the end of the year.

We are aware of most of our students being quite anxious and fatigued by the patterns of the collective in this intense transition into the mature soul paradigm.  We understand that the situation may look bleak as they peer ahead into the future of this year, and that the insight we are offering here today may only seem to validate what is feared ahead in the coming months, in terms of the polarization and the conflict and the chaos.

We do not ever suggest denying realities, which is why we tell you what we see as fairly as we can. We do not feel it serves you to gloss over realities that can be quite painful, shocking and horrendous to you, but our intention in telling you this is so that you can be more aware of where your choices lie within all of that.  For you can add to the chaos, confusion, conflict and “drama,” if you will, or you can choose to focus your energy and choices in directions that amplify peace, goodness, harmony and beauty in your personal worlds as well as in the larger communities of which you are a part.

The evolution will happen and is happening.  How you get there as a collective is your choice. You can get there through catastrophe and chaos or through unity, creativity and beauty. It is your choice. We share this with you so that you can make more conscious choices.

It might be helpful over the year to remember this:

I AM NOT THE WHOLE BUT I AM A PART OF THE WHOLE AND DIRECTLY INFLUENCE THE WHOLE.

MY CHOICES MATTER.

In a time when choices are critical and the ramifications seen much more quickly than in the past, what you choose to contribute to the collective energy has great impact.  This is a year we think will come to be realized by many the power and impact one person and many can have, as they begin to own their responsibility and their choice, their leadership, their passion, their pragmatism and their warrior spirit.

Michael Profile: Personality Dynamics (Part III)

(approximate reading time 10-15mins )

Essence needs personality-needs YOU.  Personality is the vehicle for essence to experience the physical plane.  It has no access to the wonders of the physical plane without a body and personality.  It needs body/personality’s eyes to see, ears to hear, hands to touch, tongue to taste and nose to smell.  Physical incarnations allow the soul to evolve and remember itself and others.

The personality is an extension of essence.  Truly, they are not separate, but technically, they are different.  Personality does not give rise to the essence.  It is the other way around.

This vehicle of personality consists of a body and a moving center, emotions and an emotional center and thoughts and an intellectual center.  It also comes equipped with an instinctive center that is like the floppy disk on which all of its experiences are recorded from one lifetime to the next.

Each center of moving, emotional and intellectual also has a “higher” counterpart that is managed by essence: the higher moving (energy or beauty), higher emotional (love) and higher intellectual (truth).

Essence designs each personality before each lifetime.  The older the soul, the more adept it becomes at designing personalities so that they will be more likely to embrace their own soul essence and invite the essence to participate and help in the creation of the life.

Another way of looking at these design elements is to see the personality as a mirror image or physical reflection of the soul, reflecting the soul’s intentions and ideals for any given lifetime.

9. Goal
The goal in these teachings represents the original intention behind the lifetime.  It is connected to the ACTION axis and therefore underlies all of our decisions and choices.  Why do we do what we do?  What are we seeking?  What are we aiming for?  What is our motivation?  What are we learning about?  For insights into these questions, we can look to the goal.

The goal also includes our life-task, which is a more specific aspect of the goal.  One would never have a life-task that is in conflict with their goal.

There are 7 fundamental goals or aims available for any given lifetime:

Inspiration Goals
RE-EVALUATION (aiming to focus the life contexts and understand what has come before)
GROWTH (aiming to broaden the life contexts and comprehend more)

Expression Goals
DISCRIMINATION (aiming to refine the life choices and say “no” and mean it)
ACCEPTANCE (aiming to include all life choices and say “yes” and mean it)

Action Goals
SUBMISSION (aiming to focus one’s actions into contexts where they can be received)
DOMINANCE (aiming to broaden one’s actions into contexts of leadership for self and others)

Assimilation Goal
FLOW/RELAXATION (aiming to be “goal-less,” to relax, to flow and experience peace and freedom)

Validating my goal was a big one for me.  Most of my life, due to imprinting, I thought I needed to be a leader in some way, to direct myself and others masterfully (dominance).  It wasn’t until I began to get to know my true personality (my personality as it was designed by essence), that I began to realize that I actually yearned for peace and freedom to simply BE.  The path of dominance was what others may have wanted for me, and what I may have assumed was needed of me.  But it wasn’t what I was truly aiming for.  Trying to be in dominance did not help me to understand my deepest motivations and the patterns of my life.

Being in flow/relaxation did.  I can barely express the relief that grew in me as I came to embrace my actual goal in life.  It helped me understand my deepest longings and choose with more consciousness those paths and directions that could truly bring me fulfillment.

The goal doesn’t necessarily come easy!  I had to learn to relax and flow.  And I am still learning.  But I am far better at it now than before.

Also, everything can be described as a spectrum ranging from negative (emphasizing separation and exclusion) to positive (emphasizing oneness and inclusion).

The negative pole of flow/relaxation is stagnation or inertia, while the positive pole is free-flowing, peace and freedom.

Before I learned to relax and flow, I spent much of my younger years running, running, running, like a hamster in a wheel, trying my best to create fulfillment but getting nowhere.  There was often allot of activity but no real progress.  And I often felt like giving up altogether!  I was spinning my wheels, and it was exhausting.

For me, “giving up” and letting myself possibly be “the failure” was actually what helped me to begin to relax and flow.  As I embraced my goal of flow/relaxation, I began to experience the peace and freedom for which I had always been searching.

The goal represents the type of fulfillment we seek in life.  When we validate it and embrace it, we are able to experience a deep soul fulfillment.  Then, it can feel like our life comes into alignment with a deeper sense of purpose.  We make our decisions and choices from this place of consciousness, and the life begins to unfold in much more pleasurable ways.

10. Mode
Whereas the goal is connected to action and our moving centers, the mode is connected to INSPIRATION and our emotions.  It describes our most basic way of RELATING to our goal, and it describes our primary mode of operation through which we reach our goal.

Through our mode, we relate to the goal, ourselves, others and all of life.

How do we reach our goal?  Again, there are 7 fundamental ways of reaching the goal:

Inspiration Modes
RESERVE (relating through refining the emotions, -inhibition and/or +restraint)
PASSION (relating through freeing the emotions, -identification and/or +self-actualization)

Expression Modes
CAUTION (relating through refining the thoughts, -phobia and/or +deliberation)
POWER (relating through freeing the thoughts, -oppression and/or +authority)

Action Modes
PERSEVERANCE (relating through refining the actions, -monotony and/or +persistence)
AGGRESSION (relating through freeing the actions, -belligerence and/or +dynamic)

Assimilation Mode
OBSERVATION (relating through observing and using most appropriate mode in context, -surveillance and/or +clarity)

I happen to be in observation mode this lifetime, and validating this helped me to understand my natural approach to life.  Though my observation does slide to reserve and passion (the assimilation overleaves can slide to any of the other overleafs in order to reach balance), I do so in order to come home to clarity, the positive pole of the observation mode.

The mode is the overleaf we all use in order to experience intimacy with each other.  It can help us to understand what it is that we are attracted to in others and what others tend to be attracted to in us.

11. Attitude
The attitude is connected to the intellectual center and our thoughts.  It represents our primary philosophy through which we see, interpret and understand life.  As such, it tends to be the “hub” of the personality.  Its healthy operation tends to be the key to experiencing life as enjoyable and fulfilling.

When the attitude is in the negative poles (emphasizing separation and exclusion), we will tend to be closed to new information and more prone to drawing conclusions based on half-truths.

When the attitude is in the positive poles (emphasizing oneness and inclusion), we will tend to be open to more information and more prone to a stance of continuously updating our truths in an effort to experience wholeness.

The 7 basic philosophies or attitudes are:

Inspiration Attitudes
STOIC (sees life as if it has seen it all before, -resignation and/or +tranquility)
SPIRITUALIST (sees life as if it is seeing it for the first time, -belief and/or verification)

Expression Attitudes
SKEPTIC (sees life as if it can always be disproved, -suspicion and/or +investigation)
IDEALIST (sees life as if it can always be improved, -naivete and/or +coalescence)

Action Attitudes
CYNIC (sees life as the opposite of what it appears to be, -denigration and/or +contradiction)
REALIST (sees life as it appears to be, -subjective and/or +objective)

Assimilation Attitude
PRAGMATIST (sees life through a lens of practicality and uses most appropriate attitude in context, -dogma and/or +efficient)

I could easily validate that I am spiritualist in attitude, especially when I considered the negative pole of this attitude: belief or faith.  The negative pole of spiritualist usually shows up as gullibility and an eagerness to believe what is said to be true without questioning or testing.  I could definitely relate to this in my younger years.

But more than that, I could relate to the spiritualist lens of POTENTIAL and POSSIBILITY.  The motto for the spiritualist might be “Anything is possible!”  And we include in our philosophy the seen and unseen.  The intangible is just as real as the tangible.

In many ways, attitude IS everything.  One distorted perspective or interpretation of reality can cause us to be lost in a dream of our own making.  And until we begin to wake up, most of the dreams we create are nightmares.

Validating your attitude can help you to understand your personal pathway back to to wholeness when you have lost your way.

12. Centering and Part of Center
“Center” refers to a “center of gravity.”  As personality, we have 7 centers available to us, however, only 3 of those centers tend to be the ones we use habitually to help us navigate the world around us.  Those 3 centers are the moving, emotional and intellectual centers.

Early in our development (between birth and our 2nd birthday), we choose one of these centers as our home-base for taking in and navigating the world around us.

Each center also has a “part” of center that connects to all other centers.

We “take in” life through our primary centering and “put it back out” through the part.

For example, I am moving-centered with an intellectual part.  I take in life through my body and through movement and action.  Then, I make sense of my bodily sensations, movements, actions and environment with my intellect and attempt to communicate what I have learned.  Another way of understanding this is that in my younger years, I had a tendency to act first and think later.

In my case, the emotional center had been the neglected center for much of my life.  In order to move beyond the trap of doing and thinking/thinking and doing, I had to learn to incorporate my emotional center (love and nurturing) into my consciousness.

This balancing of the “lower” centers is essential to be able to have more access to the “higher” centers and by extension, essence.

In this teaching, the 7 centers of gravity are NOT the same as the 7 chakras, although they do relate to them.

Here are the 7 centers with their corresponding chakras (from head/crown to root/feet):

Higher Intellectual Center (Crown/7) ~ TRUTH

Higher Emotional Center (3rd-Eye/6) ~ LOVE

Intellectual Center (Throat/5) ~ THOUGHTS

Emotional Center (Heart/4) ~ EMOTIONS

Moving Center (Solar Plexus/3) ~ BODY/MOVEMENT/ACTION

Higher Moving Center (Sacral/2) ~ ENERGY/BEAUTY

Instinctive Center (Root/1) ~ FEAR (fight/flight)/CHOICE

Whereas the lower centers lie within the realm of personality (body, emotions and thought), the higher centers lie within the realm of essence (energy, love and truth, respectively).

When our lower centers are balanced, we can access the higher centers for brief periods, but we cannot sustain our awareness in higher centers while in the body.  Those of us who are more spiritually inclined may try to live in these centers, but to do so misses the point of being physical.

Centering and part information is very helpful to validate because it gives you very practical tools for moving beyond your centering/part “trap” and into balance where your essence can be experienced.

13. Body-type
Your body is the most fundamental part of personality: the foundation.  Michael has said that the body-type, in a literal sense, is essence’s most basic and intimate idea of who it is while incarnated.  All of the other overleaves are expressed (harmoniously or with challenge) through the body-type.

The body-type is also a reflection of essence’s most basic karma.

The body-type information is drawn from the symbolism of the 7 sacred planets:

Inspiration Types
Lunar (Server) ~ Saturnine (Priest)

Expression Types
Mercury (Artisan) ~ Jupiter (Sage)

Action Types
Mars (Warrior) ~ Venus (King)

Assimilation Type
Solar (Scholar)

You will have a primary body-type, which would be your highest percentage of planetary influence.  Then, you would have a secondary influence.  Some have a tertiary influence, and some even have a very small quatenary influence.

The body-types also have their influence and affect in 3 different contexts:

Appearance

Nature (psychological or body-consciousness)

Health

Usually, the primary body-type (highest percentage) will have the greatest influence over appearance, but this is not always the case.

And there does tend to be some overlap between all of the body-types and 3 contexts.

The body-type information can be very useful in helping one to bring more consciousness to one’s basic health.

For example, my body-type map looks like this:

Primary/Appearance – Mercury (agile, flexible, medium build and restlessness throughout the bodies)

Secondary/Nature – Venus (focus on receptivity, pleasure, affection and finding common ground)

Tertiary/Health – Solar (thymus is highlighted, self-esteem and immunity)

Quatenary – *Uranian (supports higher perceptions, creativity, visualization, problem solving, etc.)

Validating my mercurial primary body-type has helped me to bring more consciousness to my inner restlessness, which I balance with daily meditation and other conscious relaxation techniques.

Validating my venusian secondary body-type has helped me to embrace my naturally warm and affectionate nature, along with the healthy benefits that come with treating myself to pleasurable massages, foods and company.

The biggest surprise for me, was validating my solar influence on health.  Whereas I used to get frequent colds that would last for weeks, they have become a thing of the past.  In general, my health and vitality are excellent, and I attribute this to the transformation in self-esteem that I have experienced over the course of the past 7 years.  Before learning to love myself unconditionally and learning to embrace my uniqueness, my self-esteem was very erratic and based on external validation.  My self-esteem is now based on internal validation, and I see a direct correlation between this state and my health.  Whenever I have a bought of self-doubt or self-criticism, I can literally feel my health slipping away.  So I have learned to quickly re-center and re-align with my inner self-esteem during these times.

*Uranus, Neptune and Pluto can be smaller influences in our body-type configurations, but they usually reflect extra-ordinary life-times and life-themes in some way.  I think the Uranus influence serves me quite well in my creativity, channeling and healing work.

This just about ends our initial exploration of the Michael Profile, but it would not be complete without a discussion of one last element of the profile: the chief negative features or obstacles.  The chief negative features are your primary stumbling blocks and obstacles to experiencing consciousness, true personality, essence and happiness/fulfillment.  Living without fear means learning how to make fear your friend.  This is the pathway to healing, manifesting your true essence and creating a life of meaning, purpose and fulfillment.  These fears/self-protective patterns are: self-deprecation, arrogance, self-destruction, greed, martyrdom, impatience and stubbornness.  I’ll go into more detail about each in Part IV.
